LAUT
Client:
Laut Collective
A bar setting that distills the richness of South East Asian culture and produce. Inspired by kelongs found within Southeast Asian waters, the design tapped on details of connecting wooden poles in the bench legs and branding. Touches of rattan used in the lamps also tie the space back to the region. Blackened Shou Sugi Ban, a type of Japanese charred oak panel, was used for the wall panels, a tactile nod to the grilled, barbecued meats served on the menu.
With a glowing ambience, the design of Laut storytells the owner's desire to create inventive concoctions showcasing the wonder of the region's botanicals.
